What are unregistered medicines?
Latvijas Zāļu reģistrā neiekļautas jeb nereģistrētas zāles. Latvijā nereģistrētu zāļu izrakstīšana notiek gadījumos, kad reģistrētās zāles nav pieejamas vai tās nevar izmantot medicīnisku apsvērumu dēļ.
Procedure for ordering unregistered medicines:
A request must be sent to the wholesaler. Without such a request, the wholesaler is not
entitled to dispense unregistered medicines.
Important to know:
If equivalent or analogous medicines included in the Latvian Medicines Register are
available, the doctor must indicate in the prescription the reasons why the specific
unregistered medicine is necessary instead.
When ordering unregistered medicines, prices at wholesalers may vary significantly for the
same medicine.
